CHINA SUPPORTS PALESTINE JOINING BRICS

China has expressed strong support for Palestine’s bid to join BRICS, marking a strategic move in international diplomacy. On 26 September 2025, Palestine formally submitted its application to become a full member of BRICS, which currently consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. This move reflects growing international recognition of Palestine and its efforts to engage more actively in global alliances.

Chinese officials emphasized that they welcome more "like-minded partners" in BRICS. While a formal decision on Palestine’s membership has not been made, Palestine plans to participate as a "guest" in BRICS meetings until full membership is possible.

The application coincides with a wave of international recognition for Palestine. Several European nations, including France, Monaco, Belgium, Andorra, Malta, and Luxembourg, have extended recognition, highlighting increasing diplomatic support.

BRICS has previously voiced support for Palestine, stressing the importance of a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict and encouraging BRICS to act as a stabilizing force for peace in the region.

With growing international support and active engagement in global forums, Palestine aims to strengthen its position on the world stage through full BRICS membership.
